Abstract
1,095,436. Wave couplings. BRANSON INSTRUMENTS Inc. Aug. 2, 1965 [Dec. 8, 1964], No. 32953/65. Heading H4J. [Also in Division G3] An ultrasonic transducer 10 comprises a casing 12, a pair of piezo-electric discs 18 separated by a metal plate 20 and backed by a metal plate 22, a sonic energy concentrating horn 24, and a cooling fan 30. A high-frequency generator 28 is automatically controlled (see Division G3) to supply energy to the transducer in such a manner that the power dissipated in the latter is maintained constant despite changes in the acoustic impedance presented to the transducer.
