Abstract

1,094,554. Watches. J.J. OLTRAMARE. Nov. 22, 1966 [July 28, 1966], No. 52313/66. Heading G3T. [Also in Division G1] A watch case includes a rotatable bezel (1), on which are marked the cardinal points N, S, E, W at the corners of the bezel. The direction of South is defined by rotating the bezel until the mark S lies on the bi-sector of the angle formed by the line joining the centre of the watch and the numeral 12 on the watch dial and the line of the hour hand when this hand points towards the sun. In a modification, the bezel (4) is circular and has a knurled edge (5). The bezels can be rotated directly by hand or by means of a control button (not shown).
