Abstract
1,094,148. Discharging from mixers. MASCHINENFABRIK BUCKAU R. WOLF A.G. Dec. 14, 1965 [Dec. 15, 1964], No. 53132/65. Heading B1C. A mixing device comprises two mixing elements (shown as shafts 3a, 3b with vanes 4) disposed within and mounted on the end walls (2) of a trough-shaped vessel which is divided longitudinally into two sections along its base. Each section, comprising a piece of the divided base and an attached side wall, is pivotally mounted on the adjacent shaft and is pivoted by a hydraulic piston and cylinder 10, the two sections being moved apart for emptying the vessel. The sections may be made of a frame 7 lined with a flexible plastics material 9 and the shafts driven to move material in the trough in opposite directions. More than two elements may be used with the two sections pivoting about the outermost elements.
