Abstract

1,094,014. Two-part couplings; direct connections. BERG ELECTRONICS Inc. Feb. 16, 1966, No. 6790/66. Heading H2E. In a contact member which is to be soldered to circuitry on the underside (as shown) of a printed circuit board 21 and has a frusto-conical end leading to a barrel portion for mounting in a hole in the circuit board and a pair of contact blades 28 and 30, a heat resistant core 32 tightly fitted in the barrel protects the blades 28 and 30 during solder-dipping. The member is rolled from a metal blank, preferably of tin-plated bronze, and may have supporting shoulders 38.
