Abstract
109,377. British Northrop Loom Co., (Northrop Loom Co.). Jan. 11, 1917. Shuttles, changing bobbins in, automatically.-In weft-replenishing looms of the Northrop type, in which fresh bobbins are transferred into the shuttle from a magazine by a transferrer comprising a head 9 for acting on the butt of the bobbin and an arm 10 with a recess 11 at its downturned end to engage the tip of the bobbin, a rockshaft 12 is carried by the transferrer head, is preferably journaled in the end of the arm 10, and is provided with a finger 13 adapted to engage the bobbin tip 5<a> and a tail-piece 14 extending downwards and laterally beneath the head 9, so that, during the transferring movement, the pressure of the butt of the bobbin 5 moves the tail-piece 14 into a groove 15 in the head, rocks the shaft 12 against the action of a spring 16, and causes the finger 13 to lock the bobbin tip 5<a> within the recess 11, reverse movement of the transferrer releasing the bobbin.
