Abstract

109,364. Douglas, W., (trading as Douglas Bros.). Dec. 20, 1916. Spring devices.-In spring frames for motorcycles &c. wherein a frame carrying the rear wheel is pivoted to the lower part of the main frame and resiliently connected above to the seat tube, the resilient connexion is afforded by a cylindrical helical compression spring arranged substantially at a right-angle to the seat tube and as near as possible to the pivot. The wheel frame C is pivoted at D to a triangular socket piece E connecting the bottom tube A of the main frame to the seat tube B, and the helical compression spring J is held in seatings F, G by plugs H. The pivotal joint may be of the construction described in Specification 104,582 or 104,781.
