Abstract
1,093,368. Mobile platform elevators. J. A. BLEACH (Ohio Brass Co.). Nov. 13, 1964, No. 46451/64. Heading B8H. [Also in Divisions E1] A mobile workman's platform comprises a pivoted telescopic boom carrying a platform or bucket 30 Fig. 4 on oblique arms 57 which when the boom part 55 is telescoped into the part 22 are automatically aligned with the boom by engagement of parts 56, 56a. When the lever 56 engages the abutment 56a it is turned on a shaft 58 Fig. 7 and a finger 62a thereon engages a conical head 70 on a shaft 68 which is slid on its axis to withdraw a stop locking the arms 57 and boom part 55 together, the finger 62a is then stopped by the shaft 68 and further telescoping of the boom turns the arms 57 about the shaft 58 into alignment with the boom. The bucket is maintained level or turned into stowed position by a fluid pressure motor 50 which may be used to turn the bucket so that its axis is in the plane of the arms 57 and out of the line of vision of the driver of the vehicle carrying the platform. The platform is shown mounted on a single arm or on articulated arms of two parts, the arms being mounted on a turntable on a vehicle.
