Abstract

1,093,127. Endless conveyers. BAKER PERKINS Ltd. May 5, 1966 [Feb. 12, 1965], No. 6213/65. Heading B8A Biscuits in being transferred from a first conveyer belt 3 to a second lower conveyer belt 2 driven at a slower speed are transposed from a horizontal position on the first conveyer to an inclined position forming a horizontal stack on the second conveyer. An air nozzle 9 is arranged above the end of the first conveyer to direct an air jet 8 on to the trailing edge of the biscuits during their fall between the conveyers to induce the correct angle of inclination to form the horizontal stack on the second conveyer. The angle, height and pressure of the air jet are variable to suit different types of biscuits. A plate 4 having a slightly inclined upper surface may be introduced between the conveyers substantially in line with the first conveyer to assist in the transfer of the biscuits.
