Corner joints and .strengthening-pieces; joints between box bottoms and bodies; bands, strengthening.-In threepart boxes &c. of the kind in which cardboard or like sheet material is bent round two rigid end members and secured thereto by nails, the lateral edges of the sheet material are covered by strips e of paper or fabric, or of layers of paper and fabric. The strips e are bent to U shape and are secured to the sheet material c by means of adhesive.
