Abstract

1,092,061. Photographic processing. SECRETARY OF THE ARMY U. S. A. Jan. 29, 1965 [Jan. 29, 1964], No.4045/65. Headings G2A and G2C. An exposed photo-sensitive material 12 is processed by contacting it with a carrier strip 10, to which gel coatings of alkaline developer solution 19 and acid fixing solution 23 have been sequentially applied to form a laminated assembly in which said solutions diffuse into the material, and then diverting the carrier strip 10 and its coating from the plane of the assembly (e.g. by knife edge 27) to separate it from the developed material 10. The material and carrier may be driven by adjustable constant speed drives 16 and 15, and, after separation, wound on friction driven take-up rollers 32 and 33. The developing and/or fixing solutions may contain polyacrylamide as gelling agent.
