Abstract

1,091,228. Teat cups for milking machines. WESTFALIA SEPARATOR A.G. Oct. 24, 1966 [Oct. 25, 1965], No. 47538/66. Heading A1M. . A double chamber teat cup is provided at the lower end of the liner with an axially extending spatula-like element 6 which is such that during the suction-phase of the milking operation, spaces 10 are left at bath sides of the element to allow milk to flow from the teatcup and during the release phase the central part of the liner moves into sealing contact with the element 6 to close off the internal cavity 11 of the liner from the vacuum line. The element 6 is formed on an insert 4 provided with a groove and bead which cooperate with the teat cup shell to clamp the liner in place, and with a through bore 7 for milk flow and drillings 12 to allow air to enter the cavity 11. The insert is preferably of a transparent synthetic material.
