Abstract
109,051. Korselt, J. Aug. 19, 1916, [Convention date]. Liquids, treating with.-Wool, skins, hair, feathers, cotton, jute. hemp, linen, artificial silk, &c., in the dyed or undyed state and at any stage in the manufacture, have their brilliance, strength, elasticity, and power of absorbing dyestuffs increased by treatment with solutions of the enzymes catalase, and/or perhydridase. Substances such as creatinine, which raise the activity of the enzyme, may be added to the enzyme solution or applied subsequently. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), other enzymes or mixture of enzymes that are not fermentation enzymes and cannot ferment starch or albumen may be used. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
