Abstract

1,090,291. Roof gutter fittings. PLASTIERS Ltd. May 5, 1964 [April 9, 1963], No. 14105/ 63. Heading E1W. A fitting 1 for connecting lengths of rainwater guttering which differ from each other in their dimensions and/or in the materials from which they are made comprises a trough shaped body 2 which is arranged to overlap the length of guttering 10 internally or externally at least part of the edges of the side walls of the body being stepped as at 6, 7 so as to provide at least two body cross-sections having walls of different height. Lips 5 engage a further length of guttering 9 which overlaps the inside of the body 2 with a resilient pad 8 interposed therebetween. A strip 24 of resilient material may be interposed between the body 2 and the guttering 10. The body 2 and guttering 10 are secured together by a two-part arcuate strap 11 extending around the outer surface of the assembly and clamped thereon by a bolt 22 passing through depending lugs 18 and 15 or 16. The body 2, and the strap 11, may be made of synthetic plastics material.
