Abstract

1,089,976. Transformers. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. May 28, 1965, No. 22830/65. Heading H1T. A limb of a laminated core of a transformer consists of two semi-cylindrical half-limbs 1 spaced apart by distance-pieces 3 to define a cooling duct 2 along the length of the limb, the laminations being clamped together by a plurality of spaced apart clamping straps 4 surrounding the limb, and each strap 4 being tensioned by a closed loop 5 contained in the duct 2 and looped over diametrically opposed portions of the strap 4. The strap 4 is either of metal with an insulating link or of plastics material with possibly a metal link. The loop 5 is of metal with possibly an insulating link. The loop 5 may be twisted through 180 degrees.
