1,089,638. Evaporators, film-type. KONTROCO Inc. June 2, 1965, No. 23602/65. Heading B1B. In an evaporator wherein the liquid to be concentrated, supplied through inlet 7, is distributed in a thin layer on the heated inner wall of the evaporator by rotating blades 4, the vapours pass into an outlet chamber 2 through pipe 5 which projects into the evaporator in the vicinity of inlet 7, the pipe 5 being accommodated with clearance in slots 6 provided in blades 4. In passing through the slots 6, entrained droplets of liquid are separated from the vapour. The concentrated liquid is discharged from the evaporator through outlet 11. Curved strips 12, attached to blades 4, assist in the discharge of viscous liquids.
