Abstract
1,089,556. Hydraulic pumps and turbines. SIGMA LUTIN NARODNI PODNIK. Jan. 3, 1966, No.183/66. Headings F1C and F1T. The pitch of the blades of the rotor of a hydraulic machine, particularly screw pumps and Kaplan turbines, is adjusted by axial adjustment of a collar 11 attached to each blade 12 by a respective pair of rods 13, 14 and a lever 15. The collar 11 is adjusted by a screw member 18 when rotated by an electric motor 28 via a reduction gear-box 27. An iron core 19 carried by the screw member 18 co-operates with an induction coil 20 to operate a blade pitch indicator at a control desk. Lubricating oil in a hub cover 29 enters the gear-box 27 by centrifugal force through ducts 38. The hub spaces containing the electric motor and gear-box are sealed by a corrugated diaphragm 36. The electric motor and gear-box may be arranged above the rest of the blade adjusting mechanism or on opposite sides thereof.
