Abstract

1,089,377. Wheel tyres. METZELER A.G. Dec. 7, 1964 [Dec. 20, 1963], No. 49649/64. Heading B7C. A wheel tyre comprises two sidewall and tread units 1 force-fitted into an annulus 7 of e.g. a non-corrosive light metal alloy, polymethylene oxide, rubber or the like. Each unit 1 includes a bead ring 8 and a steel ring 9 which may be solid or made up of spirallywound strips. If the annulus 7 is of rubber it is reinforced by fabric plies and wire rings 10. The tyre may be fitted on a divisible rim or, as shown, the beads may be held between removable rim flanges and fixed projections 5. The tyre may be tubeless or fitted with an inner tube, or it may be used uninflated.
