Abstract
1,088,627. Lifting electromagnets. FARBENPABBIKEN BAYER A.G. Feb. 22, 1966 [Feb. 25, 1965], No. 7768/66. Heading H1P. An electromagnet without an iron core, e.g. for lifting fine-grain ferromagnetic substances comprises a conical solenoid which increases in cross-section in the direction of material to be lifted. As illustrated, the electromagnet comprises a non-magnetic coil body 3 and retaining ring 4, a copper or aluminium winding 2 and a soft iron jacket 1.
