[Also in Division E2] A band clamp 1 comprises a metal plate 7 secured to one end of a steel band 1, the band being punched along its length with a series of holes 2, another metal plate 4 being secured to the band by a screw 3 passed through a selected hole 2 and through the edge of the plate 4 and means associate d with the plates being provided for drawing the plates together. As shown, the plates are drawn together by a screw 5 carried by the plate 4 and having a handle 6, the screw engaging in a thread d hole 8 in the plate 7, two metal dowels (10) fixed to the plate 4 providing means for locating the plate 7. In a mcd fication for use as a band wrench, a knurled handle having an extension is provided to allow the handle to be levered in the d.rection of the arrow in Fig. 3 (not shown).
