Universal joints.-In universal joints adapted for use on motor-vehicles &c. for driving in one direction only, in which studs arranged alternately on the driving and driven shaft engage a central disk of textile fabric, the layers are secured together by vulcanization &c. and consist each of a number of similarly shaped segments C with their threads parallel to the line joining the driving and driven stud-holes A, B, the joints of the segments in adjacent layers being staggered.
