Abstract

110,655. Calvert, H. Dec. 18, 1916. Universal couplings. -In a universal coupling of the kind in which the ends of two shafts a, b are provided with toothed wheels c, d encircled by a chain e, spring-pressed bolts g are passed loosely through the toothed wheels to prevent the coupling from falling apart. Cover-plates f prevent the chain from working off sideways. The adjacent faces of the wheels c, d are rounded as shown.
