Abstract

108,640. France, A. G. Feb. 20, 1917. Slides, belt and like. -A fastening or buckle for adjustably securing articles to straps &c. comprises a frame a to which the article is attached and a troughshaped member d. The frame a has a straight bar b and parallel side portions c and the trough member d is cut away at e leaving bridge pieces f and is provided with lugs g adapted to bear upon the parts c. of the member a when the two parts of the fastener are assembled. In operation, the strap &c. is passed up through the slot e, doubled over the bar b, and passed down through the slot e. Tension on the strap causes it to be gripped between the member d and the bar b. Instead of cutting away the part e of the trough member, the bottom of the trough may be slit and opened out.
