Abstract

1,086,407. Buckles. UNITED CARR Inc. May 19, 1966 [Feb. 7, 1966], No. 22276/66. Heading E2A. A buckle comprises a tongue retaining plate 3 attached to one end of a belt section 27 and urged upwardly in the buckle housing by two blades 28 of a multiply - blade spring 4, the blades engaging a tongue retaining abutment shoulder 13 or one end of the plate 3. To free the tongue from the shoulder, the shoulder is displaced from an aperture in the tongue by depressing a push button 17 secured to the upper surface of the plate 3 and extending through an aperture in the buckle cover 2. A spring blade 29 held under tension by the tongue ejects the tongue from the buckle housing. The base 27 of the spring lies in contact with the base of the housing and two further blades 30 which engage one edge of an opening 12 in the plate 3 urge the plate in a direction in which the shoulder engages the tongue plate.
