Abstract

1,085,851. Image pick-up tubes. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. March 9, 1966 [April 2, 1965], No. 10253/66. Heading H1D. In a vidicon the mesh electrode 18 adjacent the target is supported in insulated relationship from the end of the cylindrical focusing electrode 17 by means including equally peripherally spaced glass or ceramic beads 24. The beads 24 are fixed to the electrode 17 and to a support ring 23 by tabs 26, a spacer shield 22 is frictionally fitted within the support ring 23 and extends to the envelope wall; the mesh support 21 is frictionally fitted within the spacer shield 22 the inner surface of which may be provided with ridges 31.
