Abstract

1,085,829. Baling machines; seaming non- metallic sheet material. TEXAS INDUSTRIES Inc. Sept. 30, 1965 [Oct. 29, 1964], No. 41649/65. Headings B5F and B5K. A baler for crop comprises means for applying a synthetic binding material 20 around the bunches or bales and means 7 for joining end portions of the binding material together by thermal fusing. The binding material may be a filament or foil of polypropylene. The means 7 comprises gripping shoes mounted on arms 5, 6 pivoted at 4 and moved to and from clamping position in synchronism with the binding mechanism (not shown) by means of grooves 11 in a rotary drum 10. The shoes 7 may be heated by means of an accumulator 18.
