Abstract

1,085,191. Drum driers with scraper blades. GOUDSCHE MACHINEFABRIEK N.V. Jan. 3, 1966, No. 96/66. Heading F4G. A drum drier 1 has a scraper blade 2, the position of which is adjustable relative to the drum by clamping the blade between a pressure plate 3 and a blade support 6 mounted on a shaft supported in bearings 8 at each end of the blade support in a frame 9. One end of a supporting arm 10 is fixed by bolts 11 on the housing of each bearing 8 and the other free end has two legs 12 between which a ball-andsocket joint (not shown) is pivotally engaged by the rear end of a piston-and-cylinder assembly 13. The end of the piston 14 engages a ball-and-socket joint located between lugs 15, 16 integral with the blade support 6 so that movement of the piston 14 revolves the support about a horizontal axis and the blade 2 moves towards or away from the drum. One end of the shaft of the blade support is engaged by a further hydraulic piston-and-cylinder assembly to impart a reciprocating axial movement to the blade.
