Abstract
1,084,732. Wet grinding; agitators. A. SZEGVARI. March 10, 1964. No. 15703/67. Divided out of 1,084,731. Headings B1C and B2A. Apparatus for grinding and dispersing solid particles suspended in a liquid comprises a vessel containing attrition media and an agitator comprising a central shaft 41 carrying flat plates 40 disposed perpendicular to the shaft and extending from only a small portion of the shaft circumference, so as to pass edgefirst through the media and arranged at different depths in the media and at different angles around the shaft. The plates 40 have activators 42, 43, so arranged that no two activators move in the same annular zone about the shaft. The shaft may be driven at a speed of from 100 to 200 r.p.m.
