Abstract
1,084,674. Bearings. Y. FURUKAWA. May 28, 1965 [June 9, 1964; Nov. 20, 1964], No. 22810/65. Heading F2A. A bearing for an impeller shaft has a bush A of phenol resin, for example, which is capable of swelling. The bush A has a central annular groove A2 which is connected by axial grooves A4 to annular grooves A3, each of which is adjacent an end of the bush A. The annular groove A2 has an inlet A1 which supplies pressurized liquid thereto and the axial grooves A4 have inclined portions adjacent the annular grooves A3. The shaft has a stainless steel sleeve B shrink-fitted thereon, the sleeve being honed and chrome-plated. An outlet may be connected to each annular groove A3.
