Abstract
1,083,942. Electric switches &c. KANGOL CONTROLS Ltd. June 24, 1966 [July 3, 1965], No. 28255/65. Heading H2B. In a time switch having adjustable " on " and " off " riders moving in paths O, C, Fig. 1, on a dial (not shown), of an electric clock spindle 35 the spring contact 28 is actuated from a constantly rotating pinion 10 of the clock drive, which may rotate at about 20 r.p.m., the riders being used only to set up a driving connection between the pinion 10 and a yieldingly mounted recessed pinion 12 of the actuating mechanisn. " On " and " off " dogs 14, 15 on the pinion 12 are alternately engaged by the riders moving in paths O or C to partially rotate the pinion 12 so that it moves from a non-driving recessed engagement with the pinion 10 to a position at which the teeth are in driving engagement for one half of a revolution. The shaft 13 of the pinion 12 carries an eccentric (22), Fig. 4 (not shown), for oscillating the mechanism 23, 25 between the " on " and " off " positions. A pivot (24) Fig. 3 (not shown), for the arm 23 has alternative detent positions set by knob 32 for manually setting the contact 28 either permanently " on " or permanently "off" to render the timing mechanism inoperative. Manual means for initiating rotation of the pinion 12 is referred to.
