In a pneumatic wet-process jig for grading minerals e.g. pit coal, and comprising a settling tank 1 in which air chambers 7, 7<SP>1</SP> - 11, 11<SP>1</SP> are provided below the jig screen 12, 13, air-control valves 19 are mounted on a support 16 extending in the longitudinal direction of the tank vertically above the jig screen. The tank is divided into two settling compartments having outlets 14, 15 for the heavy product. The support 16 may be constituted by a compressed air receiver mounted on crossbeams 18 secured to the tank and the valves 19, which connect the air chambers alternately to the receiver and to the atmosphere, are operated by a geared engine 21 through a common shaft 20. Compressed-air lines 22 extend in the longitudinal medial plane of the tank from the valves 19 downwards through the jig bed and at a position below the jig screen 12, 13, are forked in the direction of the air chambers 7, 7<SP>1</SP>-11, 11<SP>1</SP>. In the region of the jig bed the compressed-air lines may have an 'elliptic or stream-lined cross-section or may be disposed between smooth parallel guide walls.
