Abstract

1,083,433. Moulding bricks. R. GUNZELMANN. Dec. 3, 1964 [Dec. 3, 1963], No. 49185/64. Heading B5A. Bricks, or like building elements, are moulded in a press using a mould in which the formed bricks are arranged so that they may be picked up by a gripping device and transferred in a predetermined arrangement on to a trolley or the like for transportation to a drying kiln. The mould is supported between the platens of press 13, 14 on a laterally reciprocable plate 7 and after moulding the bricks or the like are ejected from the mould on to the plate and the plate is withdrawn from the press (as shown in the diagram). The bricks are removed from the plate by a device 8 and are transferred to a trolley 5, running on rails 10, upon which they are stacked in the required arrangement. Whilst this transfer takes place a second batch of bricks is pressed from material introduced through hopper 11, the plate then being moved to the right so that this second batch may be transferred to a second trolley 5a, whilst a third batch of bricks is pressed. The plate 7 may be rotary instead of reciprocating.
