1,083,214. Automatic control of temperature. MARCONI CO. Ltd. March 19, 1965 [May 7, 1964], No.19035/64. Heading G3R. An electrical system for controlling the temperature of an oven 5 or other enclosure comprises two temperature sensitive resistors R1, R2 responsive to the temperature of the oven and having differing temperature coefficients of resistance, the resistors having applied thereto phase opposed alternating voltages from windings 2a, 2b, of a transformer 2, any out-of-balance voltage appearing at the junction 6 when the oven temperature is not at the set point being amplified in an amplifier 3 and fed to a device 4 which is effective to control the heating of the oven whenever the out-of-balance voltage reverses in phase. If desired the temperature coefficient of one of the resistors R1, R2 may be zero. If the set temperature of the oven is required to be alterable, variable resistors 7, 8 may be used either in series with resistors R1, R2 or in parallel with one of them.
