Abstract

108,173. Deane, R. A. July 19, 1916. Mops; mop wringers.- A mop comprises a sheetmetal plate R, Fig. 2, having V-shaped slots or spaces S through which the mop cloth is passed and held. The metal part is covered at the edges by leather or rubber u. According to the Provisional Specification, the slots may be extended to one side to facilitate the insertion of the cloth which is then held in position by lacing. Fig. 1 shows a side elevation of a wringer suitable for the mop. The wringer is shown mounted on a spindle a passed through lugs on a bucket and comprises a spring-pressed roller l and a roller d slideably mounted in brackets e and adapted to be forced against the roller l by a rotary cam i acting against the rod f connected to the spindle of the roller d. The cam spindle is operated by the handle j and connected by the flexible strap k to the rod f so as to retract positively the roller d when the cam is moved into its inoperative cosition.
