Abstract

1,081,680. Cartridge ramming mechanism. BOFORS A.B. Nov. 27, 1964 [Nov. 28, 1963], No. 48442/64. Heading F3C. Ramming mechanism in an automatic gun comprises a carriage 3 driven by a motor 23 along the guide grooves 4 of the gun, two pulleys 8, 9 mounted on the carriage, an endless traction member 10 arranged over the two pulleys so as to provide two runs 10<SP>1</SP>, 10<SP>2</SP>, and a cartridge actuating means 13 secured by a lug 16 to the run 10<SP>1</SP>, the run 10<SP>2</SP> being secured by lug 17 to stationary gun component. The two pulleys are spaced apart a distance at least equal to half the distance of movement of the cartridge actuating means, which movement is twice the distance and twice the speed of that of the carriage 3, rollers 20 running along guide grooves 14 provided in the latter.
