Abstract
1,081,477. Double deck car carrier wagons. SOCIETE NOUVELLE DES ATELIERS DE VENISSIEUX. July 20, 1965 [July 29, 1964], No. 30810/65. Heading B7L. A railway wagon for transporting automobiles, comprises a pair or more (not shown) of elements articulated together by automatic draw gear or a drawbar and side buffers, and supported by a common central axle and end axles, wherein each element comprises a frame 1 supporting a bottom floor 4 and a structure 2 supporting a top floor 3, wherein the bottom floors 4 are linked by a gangway 21, Fig. 8-10 (not shown), flexibly mounted by rubber blocks 23 to a frame 22 supported by the central axle, and flexibly supported by rubber blocks 24, so that the unloaded gangway is biased out of wearing contact with the floors 4. The top floor is wide enough for a single row of cars and the bottom floor for a double row. The structure 2 also comprises sheet metal side members 13, Fig. 2 (not shown), having inclined parts 14. The cable 9 of a winch operating a ramp 5, runs in a sheath 10, and an access ladder 12 and a gangway 15 are provided. The top floors 3 are linked by a gangway resting thereon comprising sheet metal parts 16, Figs. 3-7 (not shown), each articulated by a shaft 17 thereon pivoting in an aperture in the floor 3, each resting on a wear plate 18 and on an anti-jamming roller 19, and each guided by vertical rods 20. The top and bottom floors 3, 4 comprise corrugated sheet metal.
