Abstract
1,078,677. Guns. BOFORS A.B. Nov. 20, 1964 [Nov. 21, 1963], No. 47452/64. Heading F3C. In a gun having a barrel (4) supported on a mounting (1) for pivotal movement about pivot (5) and having components forming part of the elevatable part 14 of the gun located rearwardly of the barrel above its axis, there is provided a spent ammunition case guiding device 8 in the form of an upwardly concave surface attached by suspension means to the elevatable part and placed, when in an active position, to deflect the cases away from the barrel axis to fall on the ground behind the gun away from the components. The concave guide plate 8 is supported on a frame 12 carried by rods 13, 13<SP>1</SP> which are so pivoted at 17, 18, 17<SP>1</SP>, 181 that the frame may move laterally. The pivots 18, 18<SP>1</SP> are carried by arms 19, 19<SP>1</SP> pivotable about horizontal axes on the elevatable part 14 of the gun so as to permit the plate 8 and frame 12 to be moved from an active position (shown) to a transport position in which the hooks 23 hold the frame 12. The guide device is held in the desired position by rod and sleeve arrangements 15, 16, 15<SP>1</SP>, 16<SP>1</SP> provided with ratchet means 26 and pivoted at 25, 25<SP>1</SP> to the mounting 1. Shock-absorbers 22, 22<SP>1</SP> are provided between the elevatable part and the arms 19, 19<SP>1</SP>.
