Abstract

1299832 Mountings WERKZEUGMASCHINENFABRIK OERLIKON BUHRLE AG 9 July 1971 [14 July 1970] 32306/71 Heading F3C A gun mount for an automatic gun has a cradle 4 capable of being elevated about an axis X and having an ejector opening 6 therein through which used cartridge cases are ejected, has one end of a guide-plate 21 pivotally attached by a pin 20 to the cradle 4, the pin 20 being adjacent to a rear edge 6a of the ejector opening 6, and has one end of a guide-plate 22 pivotally attached on another pin 20 to the cradle 4, the pin 20 being adjacent to a front edge 6b of the ejector opening 6. Both guideplates comprise rear and front portions which are inclined to each other. The guide-plate 21 has its other end resting on a turntable 1 and the other end of the guide-plate 22 is pivotally mounted on a rod 23 which is slidably adjustable in slots 19 each of which is provided in a member 18 carried by a respective wall 14. The walls 14 are connected by a plate 15 and support deflector plates 12. A channel for guiding used cartridge cases from the opening 6 to a trough 16 comprises the guide plates 21, 22 and walls 7, 9. Each wall 7 is carried by the cradle 4 and has a curved edge 8 and each wall 9 is secured to the turntable 1 and has a curved edge 10, the latter being concentric with the edge 8. Clearance is provided between the respective curved edges 8, 10 to allow relative movement therebetween. Ejected cases strike the plate 15 and rebound into the trough 16 or rebound on to one of the deflector plates 12 and then into the trough 16.
