Abstract

1,078,604. Ventilators. COLT VENTILATION & HEATING Ltd. Feb. 23, 1966 [March 6, 1965], No. 9628/65. Heading F4V. A ventilator which distributes fresh and/or recirculated air within a building comprises a fan (not shown) operating in a duet 10 having recirculation openings 12 upstream of the fan, dampers 13 for the openings pivotally connected by links 41 to arms 38 of a bell-crank lever 37 mounted on a shaft 20, and control means to adjust the dampers between the closed position (Fig. 3), in which the crank arms and the links are in line and a control arm 24 abuts a control stop (51), and a fully open position in which the dampers abut stops (50). At each end the shaft 20 has a cylindrical portion journalled in a nylon bush made up of inner and outer sleeves; adjacent to the end on which the control arm is mounted a rotatable friction device is provided to hold the shaft in the adjusted position. One end of the control arm is connected by a link 60 to a crank arm 61 on the shaft of an electric motor, the motor being provided with control gear and limit switches. In another embodiment the control arm is manually operated by means of cables (Fig. 1). In a further embodiment the control arm 24 is replaced by a single-ended control arm (66) controlled by a single acting piston (67) and a spring (68).
