Abstract
1,077,882. Magnetic recording head circuits. DECCA Ltd. Dec. 28, 1965 [Jan. 8, 1965], No. 896/65. Heading G5R. In order to assist in the recording of a step signal, a current previously flowing from a source 10 through an inductor 12 having an inductance substantially greater than that of the head winding 17 and through a first current path (a first transistor 13 as shown) may be switched to flow through the head winding 17 in series with the inductor 12 and a second current path (e.g. a second transistor 18). In modified circuits (Figs. 2 to 4, not shown) the current may be switched to flow through either half of a centre-tapped winding (17), which may form the primary winding of a transformer (41, Fig. 4) whose secondary feeds the head winding (43).
