Abstract
Moist cooked cereal pellets are case-hardened to a moisture content of 16-21 wt. per cent., the pellets are rolled to decrease their thickness and increase their length, are puffed at temperatures of 350-750 DEG F. while passing air therethrough at a velocity of at least 500 ft./min., and the puffed pellets are then toasted. In the examples corn, oats, and wheat are specified.
