Abstract

1,077,058. Testing paper etc. C. NEUBRONNER. April 20, 1965 [July 11, 1964], No.16455/65. Heading G1S. Apparatus for testing the adhesive force of gummed papers comprises a ram 1 mounting a test sample 1a and a displaceable base plate 2 supporting a water tank 3 and sponge 4. In use, the base plate 2 is moved to a position beneath the ram 1, thus moistening the test piece, and the ram is pneumatically actuated to press the test piece 1a against the base plate 2. After a predetermined time the ram is withdrawn, the force necessary to tear the test piece away from the base plate being measured in terms of the air pressure required to raise the ram.
