Abstract

1,076,741. Moulding building elements. VERAN COSTAMAGNA & CIE. June 30, 1964 [Feb. 13, 1964], No. 27004/64. Heading B5A. [Also in Division E1] A prefabricated wall slab which may be storey-high comprises an array of baked clay hollow or other brick 2 cemented together at 32 and completely coated with plaster (not shown). The material 32 may be plaster or resin and preferably engages internal grooves in the bricks 2. Alternatively the bricks may be secured by strips of glass or other mesh impregnated with plaster. Adjacent bricks may be shaped so that they interlock. The upper and lower edges of the slabs have grooves (4), Fig. 3 (not shown), to receive double-wedge fixing blocks (39), Fig. 10 (not shown), while the two longitudinal edges have respectively a tongue and a groove, Fig. 1 (not shown). After being cemented together in a trough the bricks may be passed under infra-red lamps. The brick array 21, Fig. 8, is held by plastics grippers 22 in a mould having vertical walls 33, 34 and an inlet 35 for the plaster. Shaped parts 12, 13 provide a groove and tongue in the slab. A number of moulds may be mounted side-by-side, Fig. 9 (not shown), and have their walls simultaneously movable by roller and slot connections (27) with beams (24). The beams (24) may be actuated hydraulically.
