Abstract

1,076,484. Clocks and watches. ITALORA S.p.A. May 13, 1965 [Dec.1, 1964; May 8, 1965], No. 20304/65. Heading G3T. A timepiece balance or mechanical vibrator, Figs. 2, 6, 7 and 8 (not shown) for driving a timepiece, is electromagnetically maintained by the transistor circuit which includes a tapped coil 13 co-operating with an oscillating magnet. The coil constitutes exciting and drive windings respectively in the input and output circuits of the transistor 29. The emitter e is connected to the centre tap of the coil, one end of which is connected through battery 30 to the collector c, the other end being connected through a condenser 27 to the base. In operation, induced voltages are generated in the exciting winding due to the remaining coil section constituting the driving winding and the currents through the driving winding, due to the periodic conduction of the transistor, generate a field which reacts with the magnet. The device is self-starting. A resistor shunt R may be connected between the collector and base electrodes. This resistor has a temperature variation factor of resistance having a sign opposite to that of the collector-base resistance, so as to compensate for temperature variations.
