Abstract

1,074,867. Vehicle suspensions. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. Feb. 1, 1966 [Feb. 16, 1965], No. 4503/66. Heading B7D. One end of a combined suspension spring/ damper unit 1 of a vehicle is mounted within the base 11 of a cup-shaped member the lip 14 of which is resiliently mounted in a rubber ring 15 in an aperture 18 in the vehicle body. As shown applied to a strut-type suspension the ring 15 is held between two cup-shaped members 8, 9 and the aperture 18 is flanged and formed in a further cup-shaped member 19. Bearing pads 17 are provided between the cup 9 and a cup 16 which encloses a rubber bump stop 21.
