Abstract

A composition comprises an uncured lower unsaturated rubber or a halide thereof, processed with from 0.1 to 5% by weight of the rubber of a heat treating agent, containing, per hundred parts of rubber, 5 to 40 parts of a process oil and from 15 to 150 parts of a filling material, said composition being free of curing agents. The composition may also contain a further elastomer, tackifying agent and zinc oxide. The preferred rubber is butyl rubber and the composition may be provided in the form of a tape.
