Abstract
1,073,414. Manure distributers. JOSEF DECHENTREITER MASCHINENFABRIK G.m.b.H. Aug. 7, 1964 [Aug. 8, 1963], No. 32362/64. Heading A1D. [Also in Division B8] An agricultural trailer having an endless conveyer 11 over-its floor for loading and unloading material has an intermittent pawl and ratchet drive for the conveyer. The chains 29'of the conveyer 11 are driven by sprocket wheels 28 on a shaft 27 also having a ratchet wheel 31. A chain 15 from the trailer's drive shaft drives a shaft 13 which by a chain 19 drives a sprocket wheel 20 having an eccentrically mounted disc 22 which reciprocates a lever 32 mounting a pawl 37 which drives the ratchet wheel 31 whose return movement is prevented by a pawl 44. A lever on the trailer can move a rod 42 to alter the initial position of the lever 32 to vary the magnitude of the intermitent movement of the conveyer. If a continuous feed is required a pin 47 locks the sprocket 20 to a sleeve 23 to effect a drive of the shaft 27 through a chain drive 24-26. The speed of this continuous drive is such that it renders the pawl drive ineffective and prevents locking of the parts. The vehicle may be used as a manure spreader.
