Abstract
1,073,267. Reservoir marking instruments. TEXTRON Inc. Nov. 4, 1965 [May 25, 1965], No. 46797/65. Heading B6P. The cap 14 of a felt-nib type pen houses a capillary reservoir filler element 36 of the same size and construction as capillary reservoir filler element 26 in the pen barrel 12. When assembled in the non-usuable position, Fig. 1, the felt-nib 24 (which may be of the type described in Specification 977,047) communicates between the two reservoir elements to balance the amount of ink therein. When the cap is removed and placed on the rear of the barrel 12 (Fig. 5), the rear tapered portion 17 fits into the opening of the cap and seals the reservoir element therein. To prevent successive changes of pressure in the reservoir elements, as the cap is telescoped on either end of the pen barrel 12, grooves and ribs (19, 20, Fig. 4) and 21, 22 are provided on the barrel end portions.
