Abstract
1,072,407. Casting imitation stone. A. BERKMœLLER, and O. BERKMœLLER Dec. 1, 1964, No. 48784/64. Heading B5A. A matrix of resilient material, e.g. rubber, for use in the production of imitation stone, is made by pouring the material on to a piece of natural stone, e.g. travertine, tuff or nagelfluh, to fill recesses 4 and then stripping the set material as shown, the resiliency of the matrix allowing the removal of projections 3 having undercut portions. In use, the matrix may be shuttered with metal or plastics pieces and the imitation stone is made by covering the matrix with concrete which may be added in any consistency from fluid to that of moist earth. A vibrating table may be used to consolidate the concrete.
