Abstract
1,071,835. Flow measuring. J. FAUREHERMAN. Nov. 16, 1965 [Nov. 16, 1964], No. 48716/65. Heading G4H. In a ship's log or a flow-measuring device, a rotor which is driven at a speed corresponding to that of the ship or to the flow rate, carries a permanent magnet which operates low power contacts to produce a train of pulses, the frequency being proportional to the rotor speed, and the rotor also drives, through reduction gearing, a further rotor also carrying a magnet which operates high power contacts. The output of the lower power contacts is applied to an R.C. integrating circuit supplying a meter which gives an indication of speed or flow rate, and the high power contacts operate an electromagnetic counter giving an indication of distance travelled or quantity of fluid.
