Abstract
Paper surfaces are treated to increase the adhesion of dyes, printing inks, adhesives or the like by subjecting them to an alternating electric field at a voltage greater than 50,000 volts and a frequency of 25 kc/s or over. The paper may be passed over a guide roller, which may be cooled, close to a fixed electrode. Several successive treatments may be applied to both sides of the paper. The treatment may be carried out immediately before or some time before the treatment with dyes, printing inks, adhesives or the like.ALSO:Paper surfaces are treated to increase the adhesion of dyes, printing inks, adhesives or the like by subjecting them to an alternating electric field at a voltage greater than 50,000 volts and a frequency of 25 kc/s or over.
